Thank you for joining me for this mid July edition of Treasure Trove! A few days ago I felt a familiar pull to make some adjustments to the “About” page on the shop’s website. I’ve never been confident at writing a bio, so it’s been tinkered with several times, always with some level of dissatisfaction.

This go-round my partner had a great idea — why don’t you write a poem? So I did, and for the first time the tinkering became a fun experience!

Here these objects
In time’s Passage
Left for taking
But not ravaged

Mind the dust
Patched and mended
‘Til every bruise
Has been tended

Looking forward
Who’s their Keeper?
Those who cherish
Connection deeper

Now let’s see what treasures time has left us,

1980s Linen Eyelet Lace Puff Sleeve Top - I’ve spent so many years analyzing clothes that I am often able to narrow down the general time period of a garment within 5 seconds of glancing at it, but on occasion a piece keeps me on my toes. When I first found this blouse I believed it to be from the 1950s, it’s pinup silhouette, crispy linen, and pearl buttons being strong indicators. As I further investigated the interior it’s label revealed itself to be from the 1980s, but no less charming!

1970s Picasso Tee - I love finding a good art tee! This one is a 100% cotton late 1970s Hanes as seen on Zoë Kravitz.
Dancing Snoopy Tee Mayo Spruce Style - For anyone who ever wanted a 1960s Mayo Spruce Snoopy sweatshirt but wasn’t able to shell out $2,000, contemporary brand Re/done took the iconic Snoopy graphic “To dance is to live, to live is to dance” and printed it on very nice single stitch all cotton tees. It is currently sold out, but I found this one secondhand for you!

1970s Bell Sleeve Blue Floral Wrap Top - This top and the next two items came from a private buy I did recently with a woman who was a true flower child of the 1960s and 1970s. I will be dedicating a future edition of Treasure Trove to her story after I complete restoration work on several special pieces she saved from her youth in the 60s.
1980s White Cotton Embroidered Corset Top - While visiting with her, she shared images in an old family photo album, and was wearing this top shortly after she gave birth to one of her sons.

1970s White Cotton Eyelet Dress - While this dress appears to be all white, the body of it is actually the faintest shade of lilac!

1960s Yellow Cotton Jacket - Wear the collar popped and buttoned, or folded down and unfastened.
1950s Blue Loop Collar Shirt - I am dubbing this the Summer of the Loop Collar. In all my years of sourcing I have never been so lucky to find as many loop collars in such short succession as I have this summer. Every time I go out looking for vintage I tell myself… “I am going to find a loop collar today.”

1990s Floral Silk Gauze Bell Sleeve Top - Real nice silk gauze cut on the bias will never go out of style!
1970s Pink Beaded and Sequined Silk Top - Such a dazzler! Silk gauze, sequins, and beading, AND scalloped hems…

2012 Balenciaga Silk Zebra Print Blouse Deadstock - New with tags never been worn! Has funky shoulder pads, a cowl neck, and a low back…. plus cut on the bias…
