It’s hereeee... the first official fall edition of Treasure Trove! The autumnal harvest has been bountiful this September, and I’ve been blessed to have filled the month with a couple really good — what dreams are made of — sourcing adventures. Including…
Processing, cleaning, and repairing (multiple) multi-generational hoards has left me on fumes, but I’m excited to be back in your inboxes with this first round of pieces!!
Let’s have a look together,
<3 Kari
Treasure Trove is a weekly newsletter featuring freshly unearthed vintage offered through the Passage Keeper shop. Items previewed are available online and in person at my booth.
1970s Shetland Wool Sweater - Reminds me of a dove, a gray that has more to say, with little speckles of blue and yellow.
1960s Moth Eaten Wool Cardigan - A cardigan I chose not to repair, because the moths already made it perfect in every way.
1960s Fuzzy Mohair Cardigan - Butter yellow super fuzz!
2000s Hand Knit Mohair Turtleneck - A delicate, sheer knit in mint chip.
1970s Hand Knit Striped Wool Shrug - It’s a pleasure to stare at, with a fine attention to detail in the way the colors blend.
1940s Hand Sewn Cotton Smock Top - Circus tent top! Spares no drama with pearlescent buttons, deep pockets, and a long pointed collar.
1990s Wool Cape with Velvet Scarf - The backside of the attached scarf, button closures, and the underside of the collar is a soft cotton velvet. Drape and pop them respectively and hide away in your cocoon. Oh and it has pockets!
1950s Wool Coat with Oversized Collar - One of my favorite coats I’ve found this year! The oversized pilgrim-esque collar and the huge buttons make me swoon.
1960s Cropped Mohair Cardigan - High mohair content in a deep blue and a harder to find cropped fit.
1960s Striped Knit Tee - Feels like a cotton blend, which is rare for these psychedelic knits.
1960s Orange Bouclé Wool Cardigan - Texture!
1990s Lambswool & Cashmere Coat - A classic coat with an extremely soft hand!
1940s Black Plaid Wool Coat - A very heavy workhorse from the first half of the 20th century, the plaid has a subtle blue thread running though.
1970s Sears Tradewear Coveralls - Internet sleuths and dedicated super fans of the original Halloween (1978) were able to track down what they believe is the brand of the coveralls worn by Michael Myers in the first movie. The consensus? Sears Tradewear coveralls in “Tex Green”. Though this pair is blue, it is nearly identical to those worn on screen!
2000s Victorian High Neck Top - Slinky sexy soft supima cotton with silk velvet trim.
1970s Mechanic Shop Coat - Distressed workwear in a timeless form.
1950s Army Field Jacket - Produced only in 1950, this field jacket is commonly referred to as the M-1950 or M-50.
1940s Wool Cracker Jack Pants - First seen in 1864, these “broadfall” style Navy issued trousers birthed a million copies.
1960s Wool Military Peacoat - I found this hanging on the second story of a barn, covered in a thick layer of dust and grime. After a bath it’s ready for it’s second home - and it’s heavy as can be!
1990s Marithe Francois Girbaud Denim Jacket - French brand, Marithe Francois Girbaud, staked it’s claim in denim history as the first to artificially age denim in a process that became known as “stonewashing”.
1990s Kikwear Wide Leg Cargo Pants - Interested in the history of this LA based streetwear brand? Check out my essay..

Michael Myers' coveralls! Kari, you've outdone yourself with this fall-coded collection. I'm a fan of holey wool sweaters - just watch, we'll be seeing "distressed" wool coming down the runway, mark my words! (right up there with the Return of Shrugs, cf. your knitted rainbow shrug!).
That high-necked Victorian-inspired brown top is right up my alley. I am always looking for those.
Secondhand coats are so HEAVY (use wooden hangers) but so incredibly well-made and long-lasting. Just gorgeous.
Thank you so much for all this work!
Oh my god so many treasures!! My partner snagged a pair of very similar crackerjack pants last year for a costume and they are so well made, but we did wonder - how the hell were people peeing - they’re legitimately tough to get off and on lol 😂 I instantly started an eBay search for more gretchen comly btw, such gorgeous colors!! Also WOW @ that Halloween mic drop find! And so many practical coats, living up to the post name for sure
